Blast furnace slag (BFS) is produced as a by-product during the production of iron in the blast furnace at a temperature of approximately 1,500 degrees Celsius. Similar to a volcanic eruption, the BFS solidifies like lava into rock as it cools. From this blast furnace slag, we produce our product StahLith® H in various processing steps. StahLith® H is mainly used as a high-grade road construction and civil engineering material. Blast furnace slag is distinguished above all by its outstanding mechanical properties. In addition to grain strength and frost resistance, the main advantage of this type of slag is its volume stability.
